When: Saturday 14 September 2024, 2–4 pm Australian Western Standard Time.
Where: On Zoom (details will be provided at perthpoetryclub.com) and at The Moon Cafe, 2/323 William Street, Northbridge, Perth, Western Australia.
What: Perth Poetry Club is Western Australia’s first and, as far as I know, only weekly live poetry gig. It’s held in the back room of a licensed cafe, with Zoom videoconferencing and professional sound.
I’m appearing in person as a featured guest. I’ll be doing two 10-minute sets, with new poems and old favourites. There’ll be open mike too.
Zoom participants appear on a large screen at the front of the room and are allowed to participate in open mike and to chat and interact.
All poetry fans are welcome! Listen or bring a poem—yours or someone else’s.
Cost: entry is free, but if you can, please contribute according to your means. Perth Poetry Club relies entirely on audience contributions to pay its featured guest poets and its sound engineer. You can put in cash at the venue or contact me or Perth Poetry Club for the bank details.
Open mike registrations: at the event. 3-minute maximum—may be shorter if it’s busy.
