My recommended rates for writing, editing and literary services
These rates are subject to change. They are also negotiable depending on your project and your budget. For example, if I teach a class for you and you record it for future use, I will ask for an extra fee for the recording. On the other hand, if you’re a non-profit with inadequate funding to write promotional content, I may be willing to negotiate a reduced rate to do that for you.
For editorial services and writing, I can charge per word if you prefer.

My recommended rates are based on the the New Zealand Society of Authors’ fair rates guidelines and the Australian Society of Authors’ benchmark rates.

For editing, proofreading, mentoring, and private coaching or writing lessons, it also helps if I can see a random sample of your writing. For editing and proofreading, please tell me the overall word count.

Limited funding or low income?
If you’re a non-profit organisation with limited funding or a person on a low income, I may be willing to negotiate a discount or some other arrangement, so please feel free to contact me about your writing, editing or literary project.
My readings, performances and author talks are free if you’re a non-profit organisation running an unfunded event and I can promote and sell my books at your event.
If you’re a fellow established poet or creative writer, I may be interested in swapping editing or feedback instead of charging a fee. Get in touch.
