I’m thrilled that my poem ‘Patterned with cows’ is the May 2026 Pick of the Month on UK-based journal Ink Sweat & Tears. Many thanks to the editors and to everyone who voted for my poem.
There’s a small prize, but the real prize is the comments from some of the readers who voted. Words like these really encourage me to keep working on my poems. Some of my favourites:
This poem touched my heart. The memories are at once both happy and sad. The poem is deceptively simple but cleverly paints a picture of child, mother and father and their humorous and close understanding of one another.
Seemingly ordinary but often not.
I’m a huge fan of Jackson’s writing. Their workshops have inspired me and so many others to continue writing.
